hi everyone my question is that my husband took ultrasound for testicular exam the results say venous diameter in valsalva and erect position is not increased . small 4mm hypoechoic area in mid right testicle could be cyst, otherwise both testicles are normal in size and echo-pateren, no hydereocele or other abnormality . impression; right sided varicocele right testicular cyst ?follow up is advised. so could he need surgery to improve sperm quality and increase more sperm .

Varicocele are enlarged veins in the scrotum. Varicoceles seem to help damage or kill the sperm. A repair surgery helps improve fertility and semen quality. Varicocele repair typically is done on an outpatient basis. A testicular cyst is a smooth growth in or on a testicle which is caused by injury or inflammation. Treatment for a testicular cyst depends on the extent of its growth and the discomfort caused by it. A large cyst which may be painful may need to be removed surgically.
