Is it possible for your HCG to be 0 and still be pregnant (ectopic?)

Last cycle I got a BFP but AF arrived and it was considered a chemical. My doc said my HCG at CD 7 was 0. I am now on CD 21 with no O on my chart yet. My OPK's have been dark for a week but not positive. So yesterday I took an HPT (just because...) and there was a faint 2nd line! This morning the same thing (line looks a little darker than yesterday) and I took an OPK and it is blaring positive!
I know the faint positive HPT could be b/c of the m/c last cycle- but that shouldn't be the case if my HCG went back to 0 right?

Should I be concerned about possibly an ectopic? I haven't even O'd yet according to my chart so it can't be a new pregnancy. WTH?

I would say that if it was confirmed that your HCG was indeed back to 0 after the chemical, then there's no way the +HPT is related to that. Pretty strange though, especially since you have done more than one test. Maybe it is a new pregnancy, that's the only thing that makes sense to me, other than maybe"evap line." But I have NEVER experienced an evap line.  I have had an ectopic preg. and my HCG levels were still rising (just not as high as they should have been and not doubling correctly). But, with an ectopic you would not have a HCG of 0. Good luck and let us know what happens, I'm interested to see what is causing this :)

What brand was the hpt? If it is a FRER, I would call the drs office and schedule another beta. If it was another brand, I would buy an FRER and do another hpt in the am. I just flat out don't trust most brands after too many let downs from evaps and false pos.
