herbal fertility supplements?

a little info on me: 34 years old, have pcos, been ttc baby #1 for over 6 years. have been on fertility meds cloimd and injections (femara?) through about 10 cycles. have had 2 miscarriages. needless to say, i am nearing the end of my rope with the whole ttc thing...

i was wondering if anyone has ever had success (or knew anyone who had success) getting pregnant on herbal supplements like fertility blend or fertilaid? i've done some research and thinking this might be my next step.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much :)

When I was on Provera it took my boday about a week after taking the pills to get AF, so about 17 days from the first pill taken.

I never knew about that one. Thanks for the info. I'll have to look in on that one too. I love how my gyno said that nothing else but fertility drugs would work. I guess he was wrong if it was possible for you :) I can't stand harsh drugs either.
@ ohmygoddess do keep us posted. I hope that AF will show soon for you. I have taken Provera to get mine started and it's on day 3 after I finished taking it and still no AF yet.

Oh, BTW I also have PCOS! The massage is very beneficial for PCOS and all other infertility issues. I was totally skeptical, but decided to try it. After my first day of it, I said " I know this will get me my BFP" little did I know how quick! Good Luck! Don't give up, your baby could be right around the corner!

Hi, just read your post. I've been trying for over a decade, and am also 34. I haven't done fertility meds yet, and hope I don't. I've tried herbs and things, but many aren't supposed to be used during pregnancy, and it's impossible to know for the first at least 10 or 12 days of pregnancy. Maca root capsules are great for you and your man, it's a food and is said to boost fertility. My absolute favorite thing (I've tried many) Is self fertility massage. You get a DVD for 30 bucks, and do it at home each day from when period is done until you confirm ovulation. It is WONDERFUL!! It can help in every area of fertility, I got pregnant the first cycle doing this. I am amazed at all the differences it has made. Don't overlook this, it's completely safe, no pills and is very powerful. I've bought a lot of things for fertility and this is by far the best 30 bucks I ever spent. Don't do the youtube demos they aren't the same AT ALL. Trust me, you won't be sorry. Get the one made by Heathir Rodriquez...you can get in on Amazon. It's got purple flowers on the cover. There's only 2 choices on Amazon, the other one looks cheesy, could be good idk, I love the one I got!

Macca is supposed to help fertility.

Accupuncture should help too!

I went to see an herbalist after I had been having an irregular cycles for a while. I was put on provera and clomid for about five month prior to finding my herbalist. I too was so sick of being on harsh meds and feeling like it was going no where for me. My herbalist spent two hours with me going over a intense in-take form. This herbalist looked over all my medical records and suggested I get my thyroid checked. Low and behold my thyroid was way off and I was diagnosed with hypo-thyroidism. I really believe that without my herbalist I still wouldn't know that I had hypo-thyroidism! Along with having hypo-thyroidism I also had low progestrone and estrogen levels. Therefore my herbalist put me on vitex along another fertility blend. That was all back in the beginning of April.... since then I haven't gotten pregnant, but my periods are getting more regular. I got a period April 30th, June 3rd and then another one just today. So throughout four periods I have gotten three. Before seeing the herbalist I had about two periods in six months! My advice, see an herbalist don't just buy the herbs online or in a store.

thanks to all who have responded, i greatly appreciate it.

seems like it will depend on the individual. of course, the companies who advertise these supplements only post the best of the best customer reviews. i think i am going to just give it a go and see what happens. this is my last resort before ivf.

thanks, again, for responding.

I was tired of taking harsh fertility drugs too and started on fertilityblend for women and was on that for nearly 6 months and needless to say that didn't work for me. I finally was told by a friend of mine to give vitex a try and I've been on it for a month which it could take up to 3 months to work. But since I have endo it started giving me really bad cramps again and was advised to stop due to the estrogen. So I have to go back to another fertility drug. First drug that I had to take was clomid = very bad side effects. But this one that I will be starting soon is Femara. But one of my friends who told me about vitex she is now 10 weeks preg after 2 months of taking it. It depends on the person really. With some it takes less than 3 months and some it takes longer. Best of luck and hope you get blessed with a precious little bean :)

Hi, I started taking Vitex herb about 2 months ago. It states that it could take up to 3 months to start working. We are on a break from meds right now because I developed a cyst. I figured though now would be a good time to start herb then so hopefully in August we can move forward. I have read 3 books that all mentioned Vitex as an option however depending on what meds you are on then you shouldn't take it. I am thinking though of setting an appointment with an herbalist just to get their take on things. Best of luck to you!
