how long to wait for af after provera?

I'm familiar with clomid, and just got a new prescription for it. Along with clomid, my Dr prescribed provera to help enduce af. I just started taking it tonight. I understand that everyone is different, but does anyone have an idea how many days after the last dose af will show? An estimate or examples would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and baby dust to all!

I have never heard of taking Clomid for 10 days. I have only heard of it being taken for 5 days.  The days of your cycle may change such as taking it days 3-7, or 5-9.  The first cycle I was on Clomid, I took it days 5-9.... but I think it made me ovulate later then taking it days 3-7.  Lately, I have been taking it 3-7.  I started with 50 mg, and have worked my way up to 150.  This is the last time I am going to do Clomid with IUI.  The Ovidrel is the trigger shot.... I haven't done one by myself, they administered mine in the office I just always brought it with me.  If it fell on a weekend or they wanted me to do it later in the evening, I would have to do it myself.  
The Clomid may make follicles grow, but it doesn't gaurentee ovulation... so that is what the ovidrel is for.  It forces the follicles to be pushed out!!
Yes, it worries me that you aren't being checked.... the one time I wasn't checked, it was only on the 50 mg and they weren't monitoring me and my ovaries were hyperstimulated b/c the follies kept growing and growing and needed ovidrel to release but wasn't given it.  So, I had to wait till the cysts dissappeared before I could try again.
It was really painful.   So, I hope you figure it out, but you should definiltely be checked if you are on any fertility meds.

Also... to respond about the Provera..... it took me 11 days after I took my last pill for me to get my period this month... It was a 51 day cycle this last round.....

Hello I'm new here looking for answers.  I don't have insurance that covers fertility so I'm forced to go to one that i think my be way off base.  i have a RX for Clomid cd2-cd11 TEN days I've never herd of anyone taking it for ten days and on top of that she scribed a "trigger" shot of Ovidrel that IM supposed to administer my self on cd16 with no in between apt to check follies. should i be worried?

I had 10mg Provera that my doctor wanted me to take for 10 days this cycle and 5 days after this cycle. I got major PMS symptoms and had to stop the Provera after 7 days. AF came shortly after that, and I took Clomid 50mg CD 3-7. I'm on CD 11 and just waiting for ovulation. Good Luck!

Here is some information I just found on the internet.  I have one more day of taking the provera (for 7 days, 10 mg).  

Recommended dosage for Provera
To Restore Menstrual Periods

Provera Tablets are taken in dosages of 5 to 10 milligrams daily for 5 to 10 days. Make sure you discuss what effect this will have on your menstrual cycle with your doctor. You should have bleeding 3 to 7 days after you stop taking Provera.
Hopefully I will get a period soon after I stop taking it so I can start the Clomid.

I thought I was gonna have to wait a lot longer than 2 days! Well, my last dose of Provera was the 10th. I spotted the 12th and today AF came with a vengence! ugh... Things will be all better tomorrow. Day 2 is ALWAYS so much better than day 1 for me. I only wish I could get a lb of kitkats and a gallon of fountain coke! Hope all is well... I just felt like chatting a little in my old question thread hehe... BTW: Baby Dust!

I have taken it several times.  Sometimes it was a few days after the last pill and even up to a week afterwards it just depends. I am in the same boat as you this month. I'm waiting for AF to start 150mg clomid.  If AF doesn't come on it's own I have a prescription for provera too. Best of luck!!
