i dont have pocos but..

I dont have POCOS but my dr. perscribed me medicine for it to help me get pregnant. Metformin is what its called. Has anyone else had this perscribed for them?

No he didnt do a test infact he said that im not showing any sighns of anything but he wants me on the medicine for the side effects which is ovulating i guess.. the pharmasist said it wont mess up my systom and its ok for me to take but it just seems wierd to me.

Metformin is usually given to people with insulin resistance...did ur doc do that test. Many of severe PCOS cases have insulin resistance and thus a lot of people associate metformin with PCOS, but essentially it is related to insulin resistance, which many a times causes infertility
