Hi
Kat1978
I am hypothyroid and my periods suddenly went awol for 3 months recently.
I had a blood test done to find out why and thats when it was discovered I was hypothyroid.
My doctor said that was why my periods were absent.
I was started on thyroxine and my periods have since returned.
I am ttc but my tsh was on the last check 6.6 so my medication has been increased.
My periods only dissapeared once I started ttc at the end of August 07
and it caused me alot of distress as I carrried out test after test to keep getting a BFN it was very upsetting I did not know what was going on.
I am 37 years of age so even though my cycle seems to have returned to normal I don,t feel I have much time.
You are still quite young so you have plenty of time to sort yourself out.
You need to speak to your doctor about your concerns though.
Try not to worry.
Hi
Thanks for your encouragements. No socgirl it is not too long since I have been TTC. But I am worried - i have never had irregular periods in my life!!
Thanks girls
I agree with socgirl! I would also suggest you try acupuncture, i do it for my endo but have heard great sucess stories for women trying to get there periods back and regular! Good luck
I think that anything is possible. You're receiving treatment and you just have to give it time. I know that's easier said than done. You are still relatively young and have time. Have you been TTC for a long time?
