The vagina is a hostile envirnoment for sperm until the fertile window approaches and good quality cm is produced. When the cm is present, sperm "can" survive for 5-7 days. But, those conditions are very rare. The normal woman/man combo is about 48-72hrs. That is still only when cm is proper for sustaining the swimmers. Otherwise, the cm is hostile and acts as a protective agent and kills the sperm as well as other threats.
I heard good healthy sperm can live up to 7 days, but thats only SUPER sperm, LOL I'd say 5 is more like it!
I heard 3 to 5 days although my RE recommended 24 hours before O.
Good luck and welcome to the forum!!!
I've also always heard up to 5 days in ideal conditions, with 2-3 days being more common.
:-)
i have read that it could be anywhere from 3 to 5 days goodluck and let us know if if you figure it out
Hi Ann429!
Welcome aboard! I've read the same things you did but mostly the average being between 2-5 days and 7 is the extreme but very rare. However, I've chart stalked so much where I've seen a few ladies who got pregnant 6-7 days beforehand.
Good luck!
My RE told me an average of up to 72 hours for good, healthy sperm in an ideal enviroment (good CM, etc).
