well I'm on day 5 of clomed again and this is my 5 attempt at iui. My doctor said if it does not work this month then she wants me to start letrazole on day 2-7  of af then start follistim injectiong day 10 through 13 and hcg shot, my concern is that she said letrazole was an expermintal drug used primary for women with brest cancer and I read through my books and I can't find this. Has any taken this drug or are on it now? What will I expect with this new drug.

Oh, another great thing about Letrazole is that it is out of your system very quickly. Clomid lingers much longer.

Yep, same as Femarra. I did 5 rounds of Clomid and got a nasty cyst out of the deal. This is my 1st cycle on Femarra. So far, so good. No noticable s/e like Clomid and so far no sign of cysts. If it works, I'll volunteer to be their poster child, lol.

make sure you uterus lining is thick.  Clomid does make lining thin.  That's what happen to my case.

Thanks.  I can't imagine having to keep on doing this.  It is too emotional.  A bunch of highs and lows.  I guess I should be happy that today is a high.

To comment back yes, same as Femara, I think one's name brand and one's generic.  And a LOT of people have used it to treat infertility.  You should be fine.

Same here with my first round. I went in thinking science cures all. Just note that IUIs w/ the drugs is almost as equal to natual conception. The benefit is bypassing the cervix.

But it only takes 1 to make it happen. Here's hoping for all of us.

4 Angie: I've done 6 IUI's with no luck. I had all testing and no reason why I can't get pregnant..just started IUI because we are using a donor sperm. I got my hopes up thinking that the first one would work and was I completely let down...good luck.

Helen: I think that drug is the same as femera which a lot of women on here use in place of clomid because it isn't supposed to thin your lining like the clomid does.

Sorry I have not taken it, but I did have a question for you.  Are they able to determine why an IUI does not work?  I am having my first this afternoon and I think you probably get really excited about it because you think it is going to work.  So, I am trying to prepare myself to not get too excited because of the possible disappointment.  It just seems impossible that if they know you have mature follicles, they do the sperm washing and place them in you that it would not work.  It is unbelievable the things we are having to go through to get pregnant when you hear about all these abused, neglected, and unwanted children.  It is heartbreaking.
