over weight and infertility

Hi there,
I m 24yrs old and got married last year in April,2007.At the time of wedding I was just 53 kgs and after wedding it has increased upto 63 kgs.Me and My husband went to the doctor ,she suggested us tests for the safe side and Thank God both of our tests were cleared.Doctor gave me metformin to reduce weight.does over weight is the issue to conceive?I have weight on my belly and stomach like upper stomach n lower stomach....Pls have a look on my problem and reply me.

Hi there, does anyone ever take WELLWOMAN by vitabiotics ?My Doctor recommended me and said that this will also help in getting my periods regular as they were irregular.after taking this i got my periods close after the exact date but they are not in flow as before,in the past they used to be heavy on 2nd n third day but this time after well woman they are like minor bleeding.why is it so?please have a look! I skipped this for three days or so..i dont think it wil have any side affect for skipping as this is a vitamin and mineral formula... Please reply... Thanks

Thanks for your response.Yes,By taking metformin ,I sometimes feel like faint and weak,my body hasnt become use to of it.My height is 5'2.

I was on Metformin to lose weight, but honestly I can say that it takes more than a drug.  If you want to lose weight, you need to learn to eat healthier, better proportions and not under stress.  Make sure this drug does not interfere with conception as well.  If you are 138 pounds (63kgs) than doens't seem to me that you are overweight at all, depending on how tall you are.  The question though was does over weight cause an issue for conceiving.  Yes, it can, but if what I am reading is correct, I wouldn't see that as being overweight.  How tall are you?
