Hey - keep me in the loop about what the doc says. I go on Friday to my OB who did my D and C for a follow-up. I will get blood drawn for HCG but won't know the results for a few dasy (they are soooooo slow). I am pretty sure I just O'ed last night - have to watch my temps for a few more days to be sure, but we iwll see. Any Oing symptoms for you yet? HUGS!

i have read online that it is possible for you to O while your levels are dropping...its your body preparing to go back to normal so i guess i got my answer

however it varies from woman to woman so i just have to wait and see

Oh, I see. Well, I guess you could ask your doctor to do a progesterone blood test to see if you have O'd. Will you be going back anytime soon?

Sorry to take so long to answer. Yes. I o'd 9 days exactly after I got a bfn on an hpt. Had a beta the next day and was at 6. I was 12wks and Hcg was somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000. Hcg actually falls(most of the time)at the same rate it rose. About 1/2 every other day. Surprisingly, it takes about the same amount of time for an 8 wk pg as a 12 wk. HTH

yes my levels were montiored....im trying to remember the exact dates

i think around march 13 i was at 59 and then at the 20th 11 so i should have 0'd out maybe the 22nd

problem is my bf and i were BD'n and a condom broke on the 23rd and if sperm can live for days then i think its possible i was O'n around that time

which is the reason this question is really bothering me today...i dont even know when is the soonest i could test and honestly my bf and i were waiting to TTC until after i had some testing done so it would def come as a shock but we would for sure embrace and pray for the best

In my personal experience, it happened just a couple of days after the levels went back down...but both my miscarriages were early on (8 weeks and 6.5 weeks). With the first one, I had to have a D&C, and my levels were not monitored after, but I got my period about 4 weeks and a couple of days after...so pretty much right in schedule. With my second miscarriage (spontaneous miscarriage at home), they did monitor my levels, and they were back down to normal by the second week follow-up. I was also temping at that point, so I knew I ovulated again on day 16 after the miscarriage.

I'm not sure if that helps at all, but I though I'd at least share my experiences.

If your levels were down to 0 on the 20th, I would think you already ovulated...unless you're having other complications, like cysts.

I forgot, did your doctor monitor your levels after the D&E?

thank you...

i had a D&E so my levels dropped pretty quickly...i only bled about 10 days and my levels should have 0'd out around march 20 but im wondering how soon after that i could expect to O again

i have read so many different stories online...some say days to weeks to months...just depends on the body and how it heals...which i have no idea what to expect since my mc

Well, I think it varies, depending on how high the levels are at the time of the miscarriage. So basically, It will take longer to get back to below 5 for someone with a very high HCG level at the time of the miscarriage than it would for someone with a low HCG level. Once the levels go down, though, the body gets ready to release another egg. And yes, your levels will have to be back down below 5 before your body gets ready to ovulate again. Hope that helps :-)

Yes, I think most women will ovulate again soon after the levels go back down to normal. Take care, waitn838!
