I was prescribed bromocriptine to help regulate my prolactin levels as it was mildly elevated.  This caused my cycles to be super long, lasting 42-45 days.  I tried to get preggers on bromo by itself for 2 cycles but seemed like my cycles were still long. That's when my doc. added clomid and now menopur...
best of luck to u!

thank you for getting back to me so quick. It's just that there are warings on both drugs (femara and esterdiol) that not to take it if you are planning on becoming pregnant. Although it's prescribed in the US, it's still category X drug meaning it could potentionally cause brith defects. So it's scary. Maybe you are lucky that they do not use in the UK. At least it's safe.I have questioned my doc about both drugs and she says it's safe. Not sure if I believe it though.

Hello don't know if they prescribe esterdiol in U.K, from my experience we seem to be way behind the states in lots of drugs for fertility, theres lots you can get in the us or Canada but arent lisenced over here. Alot of drugs for example femara hasnt actually been proven  to help ovulation and is just medically used to treat breast cancer.best wishes melissax

This must be sooo frusterating for you!  You have all of this ideas and suggestions for med to try, and yet your doctor nor your country will let you try them.   I wish I knew of a way you could get treated over the phone with a doc in the US.  Man, what a pain for you!  I pray that there is an answer someone can give you to help you get the meds that could/would help.

Thank u all for advice, my dr says there is nothing else in the u.k that she can prescribe besides clomid and that other products are not liscenced for her to do so. Also my consultant at ivf clinic, and he would no says there isnt anything else either, letrozole is not legal here or proven. thank you anyway melissax

There are other meds, if clomid didn't work for your your doc should give you other options.

Yes this med is to reduce elevated prolactin levels. My first gynecologist unnecessarily gave me this meds. I knew nothing was going fine then switched doc's. Then got to know that my prolactin level was perfectly fine. I am glad I changed the doc's.

What did your doc say to u about the meds?

bromocriptine is usually used for elevated prolatin levels. I was on it for a couple of years and hated it. The side effects are crazy.
