I have two cervixs & two uterus, i did also have aseptum in my vaginal canal but had that removed, because i didn't really see the point in keeping it...It's good to hear so many stories of people with the same condition going on to have successful pregnancies, but what I would like to know is that...is it possible to have a natural birth or does it have to be a c-section?
A related discussion,
duplication of cervix anduterus was started.
I have uterine dydelphys and have 2 uteruses, 2 cervixes and I had a septum splitting the vagina but got that removed when I was 16. My mom knew about the septum in the vagina since I was a baby, but the doctor thought it might be something that I would grow out of. Found out I had 2 cervixes when I starting going to the gyno (never had sex till I was married, but my mom is very cancer cautious). Anyway, my gyno wanted to see what else was “duplicated”. So I had a sonogram and found out I had 2 uteruses. He then did a surgery to remove the septum in the vagina and made sure I didn’t have duplicates of any other organs. When I got married I moved to a bigger city. Found a gyno who was familiar with my situation and she recommended us to a specialist to consult with before we got pregnant. I am 24 years old and 13 weeks pregnant in the left uterus. My uteruses are exactly the same size. We got pregnant the 1st cycle we attempted on. I have always had crazy and irregular periods, so we weren’t sure what to expect but was very shocked and happy to have gotten pregnant so fast. I have had a great pregnancy so far, didn’t even have morning sickness. I do feel a lot more than other pregnant women. I feel a lot of pressure and pushing. My baby is doing perfect and we are very hopeful for a long pregnancy. They say the average carring time is 28 weeks, we are hoping for high 30’s. All I can recommend is to stay active. Out of all the research I have done, it seems the women who continued to be active had a longer pregnancy.
And by the way she was born on her due date. She only weighed 5lb 10oz and 18in long.
I jus wanted you to know that it is completely possible. I know this personally, back in November I had my daughter. I have uterine didelphys, but the craziest way I found this out was after a c-section.
Also.... until last yr I had a vaginal septum, but it was removed in a fairly basic day surgery. My "main" vagina was about half the size of an average vagina, and the other one was super small. Prior to the surgery, sex was sometimes painfull, and I did end up with irritation and bleeding occasionally. It never tore, or caused any major issues except I could not use a tampon in one side because it was way too small.
Removing it was done to make sex more enjoyable, and child birth easier, but had I left it intact, I was told I would still be able to have kids, it would just be a long time squeezing a baby through such a tiny canal.
That is all :)
