provera still no bleed

Hello again, does anyone have any advice as to why I still have not had a bleed after taking 10mg of provera for 10 days. Its now 11 days after last pill, have had no discharges or spotting or pain. This is my second cycle on provera(need a bleed to start clomid), last month was only on 5mg per day, and when didnt get bleed thought it may be eostrogen too low so had bloods done, all levels fine so the dr upted my dose of provera to get me a bleed this month but nothing.  any thoughts as to why i am not getting a bleed? many thanks melissax

omg! I had posted a message on another firum with no responce. I am on the same situation. I usually did 10mg of provera, and usually start having my AF around 3-4 days after I take my first pill. I am on day 9 day of my 10 cycle, no spotting, not normal for me. Last time I had my AF was in September, and at that time I did Clomid. I always had irregular cycles, but never this long. But I have been having AF pain, lower abdominal, headaches, and very sensitive breasts for about 3 weeks now then on Thursday-Saturday, I got up in the morning feeling as if I had just done a million crunches, thought I was about to get my AF waited a week, nothing, then I just started Provera. Technically your AF is suppose to come 7-14 days after your last provera pill. Let me know what happens. I hope that AF comes soon for you.

Thank you for this info, I am going to give clomid another go as I have a bleed now and  know my eostrogen levels are good, before when i took clomid i had no period and very low hormone levels, and i only got a cyst after 4 goes on clomid(on 100mg).  I will however monitor it and if this time next month feel alittle ovary pain or no period(clomid gave me a light bleed before) i will suspect a small cyst and get a US done.
Thanks again for your indepth reply,
my best wishes

HI,

This is the information i found!

Clomid is a highly effective fertility drug for stimulating ovulation.  Approximately 80% of women who are treated with Clomid will ovulate.  Pregnancy rates vary depending on other factors - sperm count, etc.  Most Clomid pregnancies occur within the first 3 or 4 treatment cycles.

Clomid has two clearly recognized treatment risks; multiple pregnancy and ovarian cyst formation.  Approximately 8% of Clomid conceptions are multiple - twins or more.  This may occur even on the lowest dose of Clomid.  Approximately 10% of women who are treated with Clomid will develop an ovarian cyst.  For this reason, a pelvic examination is performed at the end of each treatment cycle, around the time of the menstrual period.  If an ovarian cyst is detected, Clomid treatment is withheld during the following cycle. The ovarian cyst usually resolves without further treatment.

Today woke up and have started bleeding, light and only when I wipe at the moment but def red blood. Has anyone who needed provera to get a bleed , had the bleed and not taken clomid to aid ovulation, just carried on natuarly , I have the clomid to take 50mg but previously when I took it(didnt have a peiod then as wasnt on provera)it gave me a cyst. does it make any difference to cysts occuring if you took clomid without a bleed, my dr did prescribed it this way 8 mths ago before I tried ivf. This time, i have a bleed and am meant to start clomid tomorrow. thanks for all your advice and comments regarding this, best wishes melissax(obviously i needed a higher dose of provera to work)

I to provera 10mg for 7 days, today is 2 days off and I had a litte spotting this morning.

The first month on it i started af 3 days after finishing and the second month it was 8 days after.  so it could take a while sometimes.

I've had to take provera several times and it always varys on when AF shows. Last time it didn't show up until 14days after the last pill which I guess is in the normal time frame.  SSBD
