reptured cyst

a month ago i went in for my baseline ultrasound. it showed five cysts, so doc put me on birth control. well on friday i awoke in the middle of the night in so much pain i was in tears.  along with nausea i had pain under my belly button and on both sides. my dh wanted to take me to th ER but i thought the pain would go away.  this morning i went to see my RE and she said that a cyst had ruptured.  she said there was 300cc of fluid inside and that i did have some internal bleeding.  so i am continuing BC for another month.  she also said that if i'd gone to the ER they would have done a laproscopy.  she said now the cyst will desolve on its own.  wasnt the bc suppose to help the cysts go away? has anyone had a cyst rupture?  if its still pretty big now wouldnt they want to remove them?  thanks for any advice

Just sit and wait for her to tell you what to do next.

If the pain gets worse go to the ER.

I have a cyct the size of an orange on my right ovary and it was fluid filled too. same as you they put me on BC and it burst in the middle of the night and i woke up screeming.

If your body will get rid of it it's self in due cause but sometimes it needs a little helping hand that's why they put us on the BC.

Are you still in lost of pain?

When do yu get your bloods back?

thank you for your replies.  earlier i had some buring pain betwenn my rib cage and still cramping.  i called my re and she sent me to the med center to get my bllod taken--- beta hcg.  she was worried it could be a epotic pregnancy, but when i took my preg. test last month it was neg, ( first iui)  so i am waiting for her call for the results.  the cyst was 35mm and yes filled with 300cc of fluid.  so what do i do just sit and wait?

I have had several rupture and every time it is painful and bleeding accompanies it. It really all depends on the size and whether or not they are still growing as to whether or not they will aspirate them. Most cysts will resolve themselves. However, there are cases where they continue to grow and become dangerous. If you are on bcps, they shouldn't grow. 300cc of fluid is a great deal of liquid. I would think if there was a sac that big, they would have done something. I would definitely call and ask them for more info. If my understanding of cc's is correct, 300cc would fill about the size of a grapefruit. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I also experienced a cyst ruptured, with the exact descripiton...in the middle of the night, pain, horrible experience. My doc did told me that I should have gone to the ER, cuase it could have been worse, but everything was normal...ohhh, AF right after the rupture was very painful.
Not in the same cycle, but once I took bc and it did help me to get rid off the cysts.Sometimes, they are big and just ruptured..I have had 6cm (I think) which was a pretty big cyst, but it when away on its own, didn't need surgery. I hope everything works out for you.
