ruptured cyst + ovulation

Last July I had a cyst rupture.  It was very painfully, so I knew I would never forget the feeling.  Last night after by dh had sex, the same pain came back.  So much pain I probably should of went to the ER, but i tuffed it out.  My question is that I should of been ovulating at the time.  Will this interfere with that? I thought cysts hung around arfter ovulation?  I've tried reading other posts but couldnt find anything.  I go to my specialist in FEB ( we took a year off) .  I just hope that they dont put me on BC again.  After the IUI with injections I started having reoccuring cysts.  And with these is it going to affect my ability to get pregnant?  Thanks for any help

I can tell you that I have had my fair share of cysts rupturing and understand not forgetting that pain, but I also have VERY painful ovulation (often times it feels like it does when a cyst ruptures)- some months worse than others.  When a cyst ruptures it is the fluid inside the cyst that causes the pain by irritating the surrounding tissue so it is possible that you may have had a very large cyst with the follicle in it, and when it ruptured for you to ovulate, it may have caused irritation and that's where the pain came from.  Just a thought, I hope this helps!!!!!

Hi Stillwaiting! I'm not 100% sure about this, but I don't think a rupturing cyst will affect ovulation. You're right in that cysts usually hang around after ovulation, but then it often goes away again the following cycle; so if this was a cyst, it might have developed last cycle and then ruptured this month.
