stage 4 endometrisis and pregnancy

I had lap done on 6th may and they found stage 4 endometrisis. Both ovaries were stuck to uterus and bowel. They removed endometrial cysts on left ovary but didn't touch rt ovary as it was risky.
I had lupron injection and after two shots they will evaluate for IVF.
Does anyone know what are sucess rates for IVF under these circumstances

Thanks in anticipation

I am in the same exact situation. I had my first lapo done 10 21 08 but it was unsuccessful because my ob gyn wanted me to be seen be a specialist, he was worried there would be too much damage if h e attempted to clean up the endo. I went to a specialist last week and he said i had very severe stage 4 endo (on my uterus, ovaries, rectum, bladder, everywhere!) I am going for my lupron shot on Friday and then I will be have surgery again at the end of February. Then I will be starting IVF. My doctor seemed to think my chances were good, either that or he is so arrogant he didnt care (total God complex). He said usually for peope in our situation its about 60%, and i know how scary that number sounds, but really that means are chances are better than half, which isnt bad. I am trying to stay hopeful. I know this probably isnt much help but i really can relate to what you are going through.

it has been really hard as I think my endometriosis is now spreading.Does anyone know that how many lupron/femara ( I hope they are same) are given before going for IVF.

I also have severe endo (i guess stage 4 they didn't stage me but said it was one of the worst cases she had seen) I had no symptoms except premenstrual spotting- found an endometrioma 6cm on one of my ovaries and thats why we did the lap and found the horror that existed inside!     I was in shock since NEVER did i have any symptoms!    I have heard of lots of people with severe/stage 4 endo getting BFP! so there is defintely hope!     We have done two iui's with femara and are about to do our last one (on injectables) I've been eating a wheat free diet (what an adjustment that has been since apparently that was my whole diet before!!) since they are thinking that can make the endo more hostile, but who knows!!
I'll prob do suppression for a month or two with femara before starting the IVF process as well.. GOOD LUCK with everything and keep me updated and remember lots and lots of people get BFPS with endo its just that sometimes we need a little assistance achieving it! : )

I have been dealing with endo for about 4-5 years, although they think I had it wayyy longer. I did have symptoms - very painful around time of periods, and maybe TMI but bled very heavy. Like I would put a tampon in before I left for school (i was in high school then) and also a pad. By the time I got to school and stood up to go inside, i would have blood leak through EVERYTHING.... it was terrible. I also had blood clots  - like the size of a golf ball sometimes it was really gross. I had my first lap done when I was 18, had severe endo - on tubes, cul de sac, outside of uterus on my bladder, and on my diaphragm.  Since then I had had 3 other surgeries (I'm now 22). Everytime the endo has been there. DH and I did have one child in 2006. We were sucessful immediatly followin a lap and a HSG - IUI no drugs and we go preggers!! This time around though - not so lucky.  It's been a year, about 8 months worth of drugs and IUI's. Last month ended in an early m/c but not due to endo. So I'm in the TWW right now.... Keeping everything crossed!!!!
Wishing lots and lots of good luck (to all of you here TTC)!! If you have any questions feel free to send a message.... :)
Hugs :)

I had 2 kids already and my husband had non. After a year of trying and no luck I went to my Dr. I had no symptoms. But after he could not find anything my gut told me. I asked him to do a laproscopy and he told me there was no need. I told him that I thought I had it. He said no, because I had no symptoms. But after he could not find anything wrong with either of us, he decided to do it to check for other things. That's when they found it. So, some people can have symptoms, others wont. I have known peolpe in so much pain it hospitalizes them. I was very lucky.

Can I ask either of you if you had symptoms with your endo?  We have been trying to conceive for almost a year, I have three kids, my third is getting ready to turn 6.  Now my new husband and I cannot conceive.  I was just wondering if there were symptoms to endo?  I know they can be very painful cramps and things like that.....

I would appreciate any input!

I had stage 2 endo and had it removed. Then treated with Lupron as well. I am now on my 2nd IVF cycle. I can tell you I am now Endo free, acording to my last surgery 1 year ago to remove a fibriod. I got pregger my last cycle in Dec. and it ended with MC. Nothing to do with Endo of coarse since they say it is no longer there. So, I can tell you there is hope. Mine was so bad it had moved to my gall bladder and I also had to have that removed. My right ovary was covered with it as well. The Dr said he removed what he could, then I did 4 months of Lupron. after that I tried naturaly for 1 year and took a year off. Then started with the IVF. SO far no problems due to Endo. Keep your head up. I know of people who were successful with IVf with 1 ovary.
