testing for pregnancy

Hello sorry to ask this question as its probably been asked many times but can any of you lovely ladies tell me when you can use a hpt to test for pregancy and get a faint line,i.e you have sex around ovulation-how many days after this could you use a test, is it 7 or 10 days , i tested after 8 days and was neg , is this too early, could it take up to 14 days, and also i don't have periods so no good saying wait till after period was due.I am pretty sure i ovulated as had signs and i also conceived alfie withour periods so i do no i ovulate at some time. many thanks melissax

I got mine at 9dp IUI but many don't even get a faint line until 13 dpo or 14dpo. Stay strong. It is good to hear from you though :)

10 dpo is the earliest i'd test.  many women don't test positive until 14+ dpo though.

Thank you, I want to be hopeful but at 41 years my chances are not that good, i will test again on monday thats 12 days since I think I ovulated.x

it is probably a bit too early i would say wait atleast 14 days after u think u ovulated.
