Thank you for reminding me that Essiac is a great immune boosting
herbal remedy for so many things, not only for cancer prevention and treatment.

The incredible story of Essiac and the person who discovered it
( Nurse Rene Caisse - Essiac spelled backwords!) and consequently helped 1000s of patients, was available for free online.

I tried to revisit it recently without any luck, though.
Should anyone find it online ( titled:"Calling of an Angel") please send me the link.

Never mind! I just did a search and it's available again.
It's the fourth result when you search by the title.
Well worth reading it!

Cheers!

Hello,  I also have Fibromyalgia and have found a few things that help me with the pain.

One thing that really helps me is Essiac.  I started taking it as a preventative for cancer (Dad died of a malignant brain tumor).  Side effect was: reduced pain!  One morning I got up and didn't have to pull myself to the edge of the bed and land on the floor on my knees... then slowly straighten up.... On that morning I got up and had very little pain and wasn't as stiff as usual!!

Essiac doesn't work for everyone - but it does for me and I hope it will work for you also.  It is available in capsule or tea form.  I prefer the capsules.

Best wishes

Hi lookingForLight. Welcome to the forum.

Love the name! And you must be the youngest member, I've come across
in MedHelp.

OK. First things first. Is your diagnosis official? Meaning have you been
diagnosed by a Rheumatologist who used the most recent diagnostic criteria?
You can do a search for this on your own and compare.

How did this start? Did you experience anything significant in your life before the onset of fibromyalgia symptoms? Like any accidents, emotional trauma, surgery, serious infection(s) etc.

If we ask 100 Fibro sufferers, we will probably get 100 sets of symptoms,
including 100 types of pain, all similar and yet all unique at the same time.

What type of  fibromyalgia pains are you experiencing?
There are so many different types of  fibromyalgia pain.

You may have Hyperalgesia, a heightened sense of pain b.c of Neurotransmitter dysregulation and imbalance. Normal pain is perceived much more intensely.
Or it could be pressure/sensitivity type of pain , which could be from touch, movement , temperature or other trigger. I know the name of this pain in
Greek ( phonetically it's  Allodenia - from my medical terminology course) but I'look it up to find the equivalent in English, which I think is very similar. I grew up and studied in Greece, lol!
There are also stabbing pains, pains that move all-over the body, creepy
crawling pains, nerve pains, tingling pains, pins and needles....

By now, I believe I have "dissected" this syndrome, as I have studied it
extensively and I'm now working at putting together  a Fibro-Wellness program, hopefully next year.
There a lot of things one can do, to alleviate the symptoms.
If you're interested, please do a search here for a thread under :IWILLDOTHIS that I started last year here..
You will find many helpful suggestions.

But please post again with your answers and questions-should you have any-, in the event that I can offer you more precise information.

Best wishes!
