Hi,

I wasn't diagnosed with Addison until I had my very first, full blown, Addison Crisis, although my cortisol was extremely low before that.  As you may know that ME/CFS symptoms overlap with so many different illness, it is difficult to tell which symptoms  is what.  I didn't have ACTH test,  as my ME/CFS is very severe and my doctor doesn't think I will survive the time consuming stimulation test. Since it is not crutial (Idon't believe it is, or is it?,) for diagnose Addison

I think my Addison is caused by worsening of ME/CFS, since patients with ME/CFS tend to have low cortisol to start with.   Don't you think?  In any event, you're very blessed to not have Addison.......which only makes one feel far worse than having ME/CFS alone.

Thank you for your suggestion about ACTH.  I really appreciate your input.

You say that you may have Addison's disease. Has your Endocrinologist ordered an ACTH stimulation test to rule it out ? Had my result been one point lower, I would have been diagnosed with Addison's, instead of CFS.

Best.

Not all FMS patients have dysfunctional thyroid.  I have both CFS/ME, FMS, Addison Disease, and other conditions.  My thyroid was fine until last year.  Now I have hypothyroidism which is more than likely due to Addison Disease.  I suppose if we are left without much good medical help, our condition worsens.

There're medication that will make you gain weight, besides hormonal problems. I try to do strethcing whenever my physical conditon allows.  Some days, the fatigue is sooo bad, I can barely move and will myself to stretch.  In general, I do find stretching help ease up the pains.

Some doctors though, suggests that FMS, ME/CFS tend to have abnormal cortisol and thyroid hormones.....

I have been suffering from Fibtomyalgia since i was a 5 years old kid
and in my country , there was no pain doctors, or let's say, ones who can diagnoze FM.
any way , i found about it on the internet, i visited a physician out of libya, and he confirmed to me that , FM is what i have. during the diagnosing trys through my life, i never had a problem with Thyroid. or any other hormones or Antibodies.

a year ago i started feeling the palpetation, any way as Fibromyalgia patient i had no treatment yet, by coincidence, i found an indian doctor ( Neuro) who knows about it, first thing he asked for is blood test, and i found that my TSH is very law, and the T3 & T4 are very high.

I'm on medication for the thyroid issue : Carbimazole ,, and for the joint & muscles pain, I tried every pain killer, mucsle relaxant i foung, and nothing works.
I'm feeling so despert

I can not get any second openion here, because there is no any
I'll try any advice i receive

"The mix of treatments needed varies from patient to patient. There are some abnormalities that are common. For instance, close to 100% of individuals with these syndromes have low thyroid. This is, however, usually not picked up on the standard blood tests because the TSH is not elevated in these individuals due to pituitary dysfunction. Many of these individuals will also have high levels of the anti-thyroid reverse T3, which is usually not measured on standard blood tests. In addition, the majority of individuals can also have a thyroid receptor resistance that is not detected on the blood tests. Consequently, thyroid treatment, especially with timed release T3, is effective for many patients. T4 preparations (inactive thyroid) such as Synthroid and Levoxyl do not work well for these conditions."
