Emotional numbness

Hey Guys
not sure if I'm intruding on your forum or not - please excuse me if I am, but...I was wondering, I was diagnosed as having generalised anxiety disorder following a major breakdown (no surprise there then!!) and after many drugs, ended up on pregabalin (600mg per day). This stabilised my anxiety, but now can't seem to feel a thing emotionally, not even my kids and other family members and friends. The problem is, I have been on it for a few years now and am wondering is it the pregabalin, or is it a result of actually having an underlying anxiety condition? Anyone out there had any similar experiences?
All the best

Paul

Hey you
Thank you. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I did try St. Johns Wort in the past (along with pretty much everything else!!), but all it did was upset my stomach even more than it already was! maybe 'cos I was using the liquid... I'll give the pill form a try
Again, many thanks
All the very best

I had the same reaction to the with Cymbalta and Amitryptaline. I went off then and started taking SAMe n St. John's Wort. It has been amazing! I feel like a human again. I am happy, energetic, feel more involved, less stressed n my anxiety has been so minimal that I can go in public without anyone by my side, which I NEVER could do without a panic attack. I also started taking GABA and 5-HTP which helps me sleep better at night. I am now able to live alone, work out n have a life without locking myself in my dark room all day alone. I would talk to your doctor about it. Some docs are not supportive of natural/herbal remedies, but was luckily cuz I wouldn't be here without his info n support.
