Hi He, Lol,
I found my doctors through ILADS. One thing I have to emphasize is, know what you want before you go in.
My one doctor is a keynote speaker for ILADS with whom I saw for two years for depression and he never had me tested correctly for what I actually had, Lyme and Babesia. He knew I had Mycoplasma and neurological symptoms and never had me pursue the correct diagnosis.
I now have another Dr. And a neurologist both ILADS.
My point is learn all you can before going in to see a doctor, even ILADS.
well, actually I am a "he" but that's ok...lol. As long as alison3 gets the help and proper testing, www.ILADS.org can help her find the appropriate Dr.
Hi ladies. Ewford has a good point. What she suggests can be possible being it has happened to me.
I had no tick bite, some same and some different symptoms than you and still had found out I was living with Lyme disease and two other associated diseases for years.
They all manifest differently. I had a consistent elevated temp., all the other symptoms you have and psychiatric conditions brought on by mycoplasma (depression, anxiety).
Not a soul figured it out even when they caught the mycoplasma. (thanks to a MedHelp friend).
It is important to get the appropriate tests. I was tested for years due to the area I'm in and my dogs had it. None of the tests came back positive until I found the correct doctor.
Www.immed.org can guide you.
You could have been bitten years ago but your immune system was able to keep it in check. A virus or mycoplasma could have triggered the immune response. And the researchers are finding it's not just ticks, but fleas, biting flies, mosquitoes. It is also found in Vag fluids, semen, breast milk, saliva and the placenta.
I will post there. However, I haven't been bitten by a tick...Is there another way to contract Lyme?
Thank you for your input. I am 39. But I will still ask my Dr. about possible hormone issues.
Could be Lymes disease. Would you repost this on the Lyme Forum? You will get some help there.
Your age is of great importance. It does sound hormonal. If you are in your later 40's I would suggest seeing your gyno and having a hormonal workup done.
Have a complete health profile too including glucose and thyroid. Fluctuating sugar levels or thyroid hormones can also affect you this way.
Feel better and best of luck with the doctor.
