Do I have Fibromyalgia

I finally was approved for Physical medicine & rehabilitation... After my examination it read

DIAGNOSIS:

593.9 Unspecified disorder of kidney and ureter
722.10 Displacement of lumbar intervertebral disc without myelopathy
724.4 Thoracic or lumbosacral neuritis or radiculitis, unspecified
722.52 Degeneration of lumbar or lumbosacral intervertebral disc
729.1 Myalgia and myostis, unspecified
354.0 Carpel tunnel syndrome

Can someone explain this to me, and what exactly does unspecified mean???
Also, may one exactly what exactly does physical medicine & rehabilitation mean and what will he or she do and provide?????
Thank you soooo much

Hello Dee Dee, how are you? Thank you for responding to my question. You made me smile when you said Fellow African American... I must say, I really never paid any attention to our race until you mentioned it. Thats funny....Nice to see you as well....

I am sorry to hear about your knee, and I hope you feel better..

I first want to show you my MRI results

Findings: Reversal of the normal cervical lordosis centered at the c4-5 level. Mild irregularity of the end plates of c4-c5 and c-6 seen likely degenerative in etiology.
c2-3: unremarkable on the sagitlal images.
c3-c4 posterior disc bulge with tiny central disc herniation and facet disease causing mild ritht foraminal narrowing.
c4-c5: Posterior disc bulge with a central disc herniation and facet disease causing mild spinal stenosis at this level. Foramina appear patent.
c5-c6: Posterior disc bulge with a central disc herniation mildly indentinting the ventral cord. Mild spinal canal narrowing. Foramina appear patent.
c6-c7: Posterior disc bulge with a central dissc herniation indenting the ventral cord and facet disease causing moderate spinal stenosis at this level. Foramina appear patent.
c7-T1 facet disease causing mild left andmoderate frght foraminal stenosis. This is likely secondary to an osteophyte.

Impression:
Multilevel spondylosis superimposed upon reversal of normal cervical lordosis causing moderate spinal stenosis at the c6-c7 level as well as mild spinal stenosis at the c5-6 and c4-c5 levels. Foraminal stenosis as described above. There is facet disease causing probable moderate right facet disease at the c7-T1 level.

My Nerve conducting study read:
Borderline slow sensory nerve conduction veiocity noted in the first, second and third finger-wrist and palm-wrist segments of both median nerves.

Boredrline prolonged terminal latency noted in the left median nerve.

Normal sensory and motor NCV's with normal amplitudes noted in the other segments of tested nerves of both upper extremities. Tested nerves include both median, right ulnar and the right radial sensory.

Conclusion:
The above findings are compatible with minimal bilateral carpel tunnel syndrome. The electrical findings are minor, and essentially confined to the sensory segments only. The remainder of the nerve conduction data is normal.

Diognosis: Evaluate for neuropathy/entrapment syndrome

The doctor  I went to see was a pain managment. her practice is   General Medicine PA-C. I have her evaluation results and diagnosis, and it is....

The doctor wrote in her notes under  Palpatations: spinal palpation. Pain. Palpatory guarding. Stiffness/ soreness. Tenderness bilaterally. Diffuse tenderness throughout the soft tissue noted on the upper and lower extremities anterior chest, for a total greater than 18 tender points found.
She ordered Xrays for my back, a cat scan and ultra sound for my mass on the kidney and I have a EMG test done on the 10th of this month. After that, sh said she will make a plan for my theropy..... I hurt so bad, and this has been going on for ever and a year...
I just want some relief. I hope they can get me on track because I have been suffering a long time. It started with a bulge disc on c6-7, last year and look how bad it has gotten in a year..... WOW.,....

Hi Jackie
Fellow African American, not a whole lot of us on the site. Nice to see you.  I, too am wondering if I really have Fibro or not.  Anyway, several weeks ago I was in so much pain.  It was in my arms and shoulders, and my back. I had to see my doc for a check up after getting out of the hospital.  I'd had a knee replacement.  I was put on Lyrica at the rehab hospital.  I don't remember if I actually mentioned Fibro or the doc just thought it would do me some good, but I'm on it.  Thank God.  I'm a new woman. Lyrica is the most effective med I have ever had for any problem. Because of it I've been able to drastically taper off of the narcotics which were prescribed for my knee pain which was considerable.  I had MRSA for almost 3 years.  It is a vile, relentlesss staph infection that is extremely difficult to get rid of.  The infection has continued to come back after multiple surgeries to get rid of it.  It has wrecked my life.  The ortho surgeon who did 4 operations finally got to the point that he did not have any more answers, so I changed doctors.  Since I live near New York City I went to a doctor there and it seems as though I'm finally well.  My knee swelling which was quite a bit is much reduced and the pain is much less.  Since I've been on the Lyrica I've been able to cut back on the narcotics.
But, back to you.  The person to give you a diagnosis is a Rheumatologist.  They are much more familiar with Fibro than a general practitioner. Fibro, unlike most diseases is diagnosed by symptoms.  You need to have pain in 11 of 18 areas of the body called trigger points. The pain is deep muscular and joint pain in these trigger points.  I, myself don't know if I have 11 trigger points, therefore I have not been officially diagnosed.  But I've suffered with the pain for a long time and now I'm so much better.
I suggest you see a Rheumatologist.  I don't know what kind of doc gave you all those diagnoses.  Was it a Rheumatologist? Tell him you want to be tested specifically for Fibro and ask what he thinks about putting you on Lyrica.  Good luck and let me know how you make out.
Dee
