I have looked at many of your posts and read numerous things about fibromyalgia on the internet. My sister has fibro also and after talking with her and doing all this reading, it seems like I have tons of the symptoms. I am constantly in pain from either my neck (where I have had 2 cervical disk surgeries), my lower back, aching all over, POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachchardia Syndrome - which is a type of dysautonomia), acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, have had part of my thyroid removed because of a growth on it, and I could name plenty more things unfortunately!!
The main reason I am posting is that each time I bring up my hurting all over and it being so hard to get comfortable so I can sleep at night and so very hard to get up and get my body in gear in the morning, my doctor just says I need to learn to relax. He says I can make all this go away. I am not so sure that I believe this. Each day, it is a struggle for me to make it through the day until I can get home. When I get home, I have done about all I can do for the day because I have fought the pain all day! I take Ultracet and Zanaflex and have taken Hydrocodone (1 or 2 a day most days and no more than 4 on any day and some days none) but my doc says that they won't prescribe that any more because it is a narcotic. So where does this leave me? In pain, struggling to make it through the day, and stressing out because some days it is more than I can take.
I don't know how to get my doctor to understand that I hurt everywhere. My ribcage often feels like I have been beaten and I haven't. Does anyone have any advice or know of any doctors in Alabama that I might could discuss this with? If you can say anything to help in any way, I would truly appreciate it.
