Lyrica Side effects.

I was curious if anyone experiences really wretched side effects with Lyrica?  I find it numbs my mind almost uncontrollably, and causes me to walk around in a fog for most of my day.  Unfortunately, my doctor put me on a *very* low dose, because I was concerned about these very side effects.  I was hoping someone could tell me whether or not these side effects actually went away, if the body eventually adjusted to them?  Frankly, I've only been taking 50 mg/2x day, and soon to bump it up to 75mg/2x day.  My job requires me to be able to concentrate (it's been very difficult to find a job that was both lenient with my physical problems AND my brain fog/concentration/memory issues.)  so I'm praying this will eventually end as I adjust.  Having taken this dose for the last week and not noticing any improvement in my cognitive function, I'm beginning to worry a bit.  If anyone could give me some guidance, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am taking 300mg a day. As I went up in dosage slowly, 2 weeks at a time, I did notice a little "fog" for the first few days. But I have adjusted to it now. My leg pain is almost totally gone, and sleep better. For me, it is worth the side effects of the fog and weight gain. I have lost 6 lbs this week, but have been really doing the low-card diet seriously. This diet also helps with fibro. Hope you adjust soon...........if you quit, you also need to taper off if you are on a high dose. No quitting it cold turkey....

I was only diagnosed a week ago and went up to 75 mg yesterday.  At 50 mg I had no side effects but since I am also having pain from arthritis, it is hard to know which is which.  However, I slept the best I have in weeks last night.  I was also given a prescription for lidocaine patches and also used them last night.  I don't know if it was the combination of the two but I got more accomplished today than I have in a long time so I'm going to hang in there and see what happens.  I work part time as a librarian, so I also have to concentrate, and no brain fog so far.  I also work doing marketing for a non-profit ( for free) and made some in roads with some major donors this week.  Being able to sleep is something I am hoping for, so will put up with a little fog for that as I know that sleep is very important in the cycle of pain.  I worked for a pharmaceutical company in 1988.  The reason they keep researching and bringing more choices to the market is partly because we can't all tolerate the same drugs.  Of course there is a profit motive but none associated if it doesn't help the greatest number of people possible.  My microbiology instructor in college was a victim of both polio and whooping cough.  Even though it is easy to beat up on pharmaceutical companies with their profit margins, I always remember her when I think they aren't doing enough.  I am part of the first generation to receive the polio vaccination and for that I am very greatful.  When it comes to our own disease/condition, we all want it yesterday.  So, in light of my training, I guess I'm feeling fortunate that there is a least something for me to try, unlike my dear friend who was diagnosed 15 years ago.  Hang in there, Kay

I am taking 150 mg twice a day, I am in a total fog and keep forgetting my doctor appointments to have it adjusted. I think I may have to just quit taking it because it seems worse than just being in pain all of the time.

I took just 1, enough for me to know that I didn't want anymore, then looked up the side effects and knew for sure I didn't want more!  Some listed were same as what I already have.
