I've been reading Dr. David Jernigan's book, "Beating Lyme Disease" (although I don't believe I have lyme). Anyway, he discusses pathogens involved with many of these "autoimmune" illnesses and says that "many cases of MS and ALS are misdiagnosed and are actually what some call "Neuroborreliosis". Apparently this is recent research by Dr. Lida Mattman, Ph.D. . et al., which is due to be published soon.
It is sort of frightening. Already we have West Nile Virus from mosquito bites, Chaga's disease which is caused by the kissing bug and lyme from tick bites. In addition to that, they are discovering pathogens in people who have autoimmune conditions, fibromyalgia, CFS, sarcoidosis and other chronic diseases.
I had muscle spasms and tightness prior to a virus I had in April. Since the virus, I noticed my problems got even worse and feel like I have the flu just about everyday. I know viruses can cause fibro to flare. I got the virus when I was working and everyone in my office had it and it seemed to keep returning. I hope if someone figures it out, they can let us know.
Warmest Regards
