Muscle aches and pain

Hi Everyone, I came down with a mild flu roughly 11 weeks ago and have suffered with muscle and ligament pain from cramps, tightness and aches ever since  granted it has improved since it began so that I'm not in constant pain all day like I was but I have muscles that since this whole thing started have pulled tight and remained that way, I get quick sharp pains usually in my legs and arms ( like the muscle is about to cramp but doesnt ) cramps on and off that leave my muscles sore particularly in the arms, between the shoulder blades and  over the ribs and chest and I  also get headaches on and off most days as well. About a week after my flu symptoms started my mother started to come down with the flu, her symptoms were slightly different to mine but I have no doubt she contracted it from me as we spend alot of time together and did spend alot of time together during the early stages of my flu. Now she also suffers from the same terrible post viral problems only hers are a little more severe. What I find strange is aside from the two of us no one else in my family who spent time with us ( including both our husbands and my children which I am extrememly thankful for ) got this. What I'm curious to know is if anyone else out there contracted a flu off a friend or family member and both ended up with these sort of  Post viral symptoms?

I've been reading Dr. David Jernigan's book, "Beating Lyme Disease" (although I don't believe I have lyme). Anyway, he discusses pathogens involved with many of these "autoimmune" illnesses and says that "many cases of MS and ALS are misdiagnosed and are actually what some call "Neuroborreliosis". Apparently this is recent research by Dr. Lida Mattman, Ph.D. . et al., which is due to be published soon.

It is sort of frightening. Already we have West Nile Virus from mosquito bites, Chaga's disease which is caused by the kissing bug and lyme from tick bites. In addition to that, they are discovering pathogens in people who have autoimmune conditions, fibromyalgia, CFS, sarcoidosis and other chronic diseases.

I had muscle spasms and tightness prior to a virus I had in April.  Since the virus, I noticed my problems got even worse and feel like I have the flu just about everyday.  I know viruses can cause fibro to flare. I got the virus when I was working and everyone in my office had it and it seemed to keep returning. I hope if someone figures it out, they can let us know.

Warmest Regards
