Platelet Gal

Hi girl, I posted a question about medical marijuana, but nobody answered. Don't know if they are worried about the legalities or what..........have you ever heard of anyone using it for fibro symptoms? It is legal in Oregon if  perscribed by a doctor, so I think it is a legitimate question. Can you give me any help please?

Hi....
It is not right for everyone.  But there are certain strains that are more mild than others.  that is the beauty of the Co-ops here.  I can walk in and tell them what I need it for.  I smioke something different for anxiety than I do for Fibro and the Cancer.  It's just trial and error.  How about your brother trying edibles? It could be the inhaling that made him sick.  They also have cola drinks and believe it or not...p-nut butter!
I think you made your brother throw up so you could have it all for yourself....lol.
Love to you and your brother!

Hi Everyone,
I live in Calif. and it is legal here.  I was using it for my Cancer and when I was diagnosed with fibro..due to my Cancer I started using another strain.  It does help me with the pain and makes it a bit more tolerable. What I do suggest is that if you are smoking it make sure your Dr.'s know as you want to make sure it doesn't interfere with other meds.  If you use it properly it will help and you can function.  I am not 16 anymore so getting high is not for me, but using it the way I use it...it helps my Cancer symptoms amd Fibro.

it,s not legal over here i,m afraid ,but i smoke it and my docter {who is very understanding ) knows that i do , it is one of the only things that relaxes my muscles .i don,t smoke it to get stoned or high or anything like that, just a little amount to take the edge off, anymore than that is just missuse and then it won,t work (thats what my dr tells me }and all the dr,s that i see i tell them that i do and they all seem to be understanding about it , but i did hear of a woman who goes to the same dr,s as me ,i don,t no what is wrong with her as i don,t no her but apparently my dr went ballistic and refused her treatment and then had her struck off the surgery list!!   contrary lot are  we not? ha ha

I live in Vancouver, WA and was prescribed Medical Marijuana pills during my pregnancy last year for *severe* nausea and vomiting. I can say that for me, it didn't really help much and just made me loopy (which I couldn't stand) and had the munchies (LOL!) which I subsequently tossed back up anyway - not sure about the smoked kind tho.

Hello LLWB.  I did not see your question that was posted previously.

Here is something that may give you more information on your questions about the use of marajuana for the treatment of fibromyalgia.  I'm not worried about the legalities of discussing it.  If it would help the symptoms of fibro and it was guaranteed to have been grown in safe soil and not treated with chemicals, then yes, I would try it.  I think that people in chronic pain should be able to take whatever helps them gain relief.  However, since it is illegal I would be hesitant to seeking it from other sources or attempting to grow it myself.  Maybe one day they will make it more available for those suffering from chronic, wide-spread pain.

Hi This Mary/ FIBRO-GURL. I studied the statute for medical marijuana use in the state where I live ("your state".Gov) , Maine, and they state specificaly the symptoms of muscle and joint pain that don't respond to available pain meds satisfactorily. Here we can grow 6 plants legally and have 2 oz processed product but we got to be 18 an have prescription from MD or OD and "Ongoing relationship with Dr" which I guess means having an appointment card with date of next appointment on it. Federal Government still says the sates laws are not valid and Federal law outlaws all use of marijuana.
It's not illegal to talk about having smoked marujuana. Maybe against rules of this site but I'd hope they tell us before throw us out - that is if they monitor.

I am 13 years old and I did try smoking marijuana cuz the pain was so bad in my sucles and joints. It made me very tired, I got sorta stupid, I did want to draw but Mummy said I had to go straight to bed.  I woke up in morning an my pain was gone. Just gone for hours.

So when I'm 18 I'm gonna get a prescription.  tho my psykiatrist said that would mess with my spych meds. I would give up psychmeds an be depresed or manic if I can just get rid of this excrutiating never lettin up ****-pain.

Peace,
Mary

I know that medical marijuana is prescribed for some cancer patients' to help with nausea, but I'm not sure whether or not it would help with fibromyalgia.
