Polymyalgia

Has anyone out there ever had Polymyalgia?  How long did you hae it and what did  the doctors do for it?  Mine have me on prednisone.  Even though it seems to help to some degree it also is putting weight on like crazy.  I also have pulmanary problems and of course again more prednisone, is there anything else that I could take instead?   HANK955

Hi I also have polymyalgia. I was just Dx. After a bone scan and a sed rate level of 50-100 and much pain this is the dx. I have a had a high sed rate for 12 years and pretty much only leg pain up until this past year. Now I have lots of hip and shoulder, facial pain. My white blood count is also low. I am 33 my doc said that this is very rare for some one my age but he was very confident that this is the right Dx.

I have dx with polymyalgia by a Rheumatologist. He was an A**. I really have fibro. Poymyalgia and Fibromyalgia are actually the same dx. It's just that one dr uses poly and another uses Fibro. I may be wrong but that is my opinion, however believe me I am got a dr and I don't want to have like one.Let me know what the dr has to say. Take Care and Let Me know how things are going.
