Posting again hoping somebody will answer

Hi

I am a 26 year old male. I am curious about the symptoms and a diagnosis. I am not tired, no fatigue and I don't have sleep problems, I wake up in the middle of the night but I always fall right back asleep.

My symptoms have been:

Upper back pain from may 09 - october 09, then no back pain since.
Ive had urinary symptoms since I was 18. I got UTI's my freshman year of college and have had prostate problems since 21, just like my father did when he was my age
I also had constipation now and then and history of hemmoroids.
Recently both of my quadriceps have been extremely tight. I saw a myofascial trigger point massage therapist a while back and she thought it was some myofascial pain, not fibromyalgia.

I am curious if what I tell you fits the profile. The lack of fatigue and sleep issues makes me feel like I am experiencing something else.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

The fact that you said you are not tired, not fatigued and have no problems sleeping.  Those are probably the TOP THREE symptoms of Fibromyalgia. That's why I'm saying  it doesn't sound like Fibro. people with fibro are a lot more than just tired; they are exhausted most of the time. You must meet a criteria for this problem to be diagnosed; there are 18 pressure points on the body, to recieve a diagnoses a doctor must find pain at 11 of  those points.  You said your legs have been achy and tight for a week now. Those symptoms can be a part of almost anything, including being overused by walking too much at one time. That certainly doesn't make it Fibro. A lot of people, including myself, have a difficult time walking, the aching is so bad, many of us have balance problems as well. Many are using a cane or a scooter to help get us around. Walking through a store, shopping, is a nightmare for many of us. One thing that is known about Fibro patients is that they DON'T sleep well. During sleep the muscles are busy repairing themselves; they figure that because Fibro patients can't get the sleep they need for that repair, that's the reason for what is happening to them. Many fibro patients have a problem with muscle weaknesses as well as cognitive problems. The list is a very long one. Does this still sound fimilier to you after that one week?    .

Fibromyalgia usually is described as pain up and down and both sides of the body.
Lots of people who don't have fibro experience sleep problems from time to time in ones llife. Have you ever had an MRI of your spine? maybe something there

Hi thanks for your reply, what makes you think it doesnt sound like fibromyalgia? Both of my legs have been so achy and tight for a week now and I don't have a great explanation. Naturally I am very concerned.

Thanks so much for your help
