Bone pain

I have chronic bone pain all over.  I have Fibromyalgia and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.  I have been checked for thyroid disease and that was in the normal range.  I get vit. B12 shots monthly.  The doctor at the Cleveland Clinic said the I have a disorder that caused my bones to be cold even when I where warm clothing but I don't remember what it is.  Doesanyone know what this disorder is called?

Thanks for your great Ideas.  I will check out the Chinese warming foods. I have had acupuncture before and it really helped.  Unfortunately i can't afford it right now.  The Complex regional pain syndrome is nerve damage to my right side of my body and it causes a lot of pain that is hard to control.  But I have been cold since I was very young.  In high school I used to wear long underwear under my jeans in May.  My teachers thought I was crazy because they were sweating and I was freezing.  I have been tested for anemia, and I have been anemic in the past. They do watch that and maybe I should remind them to check it again.  I used to have an electric blanket but it broke and they are expensive and my husband has been unemployed for a year now.  Things are tough right now but I still count my blessings that at least my condition is not a terminal illness and I have learned to function much better after having gone through the Cleveland Clinics Pain Clinic.  That really saved my life.  I was not functioning at all before that.  I wish I lived closer to them now.  I know that Physical Therapy and massages help me to function better when I can afford them as well.  I don't think the doctor listed the ailment of being cold all the time, since I was not there for that.  I was there for the Fibro and chronic pain due to the CRPS..  I do have osteoarthritis  that is developing.  I will continue to research on the internet about being cold and if I find anything, I will definitely post it.  Thanks for all your feedback.  I really appreciate it.   And its great meeting both of you, Dusty and Concerned621

Hi, I think alot of us Fibromites are cold this year, as it is so cold outside. I have had lost of bones hurting lately too. Especially my shoulder sockets. I use a heating blanket like a sheet under my body when I sleep and dress warm,,,I know you will have to put the clothes on and then take them off often that is just part of this condition. Hugs, Teri

Hello and welcome,
I am sorry to hear about your health struggles. Most of us here are in the same boat, so you should feel right at home. I have been scouring the internet trying to figure out what the term is that you are looking for to describe your ailment and I can't figure it out. Hmmm...Do you have a bone related anemia? Or perhaps osteonecrosis? The last one seemed kind of major. Maybe if you describe more of your symptoms I could help you figure it out. You could always contact the doctors back at the clinic and ask for your records to be mailed to you. They do belong to you.

As far as staying warm this winter- a lot of other members on here like to use an electric blanket. That sounds like a great idea. I am cold ALL of the time and I could use one for sure! Anyhow, it's very nice to meet you.

I'm so happy for you that you have the ability to go the Cleveland Clinic. It's suppose to be amazing. I also get B12 shots.  I too have fibromyalgia and I suffer with being cold all the time. I have the fire place and furnace going at all times. Everyone here at home is so hot while I'm ache even when it's so hot in here. I don't know what the disorder is called, I would love to know if you do find out.  In Chinese Medicine, I've had acupuncture and I have been told that and I'm not sure of exactly how or why acupuncture works but that I have cold in my body.  There are foods that you can eat and acupuncture treatments and herbs you can take to warm the body.  One thing that we do as Americans is eat foods that are cold. Meaning in the morning we eat cereal, eggs, bacon, none of these foods warm the body.  I was told to think of having an internal furnace in our body. We don't warm the furnace when we wake in the morning.  There are foods that it in other cultures that do warm the body.  I can't remember exactly what it was but after my 5th surgery on my spine I was very ill, so run down. I was seeing an acupuncture therapist and I was making poorige or jook each morning, having treatments once a week and taking herbs. It was so healing and it did help so much.
If you do a search on Chinese medicine and warming foods you find information on this. I am not a doctor but this really helped me and it did help with the internal feeling of being cold all the time.  In fact you reminded me of it and I am going to pull out the books and start looking in to it again for myself.

I hope this helps a little.  Best to you.
