Insurance Barriers to Fibromyalgia Survey

The American Pain Foundation wants to hear from people who have fibromyalgia. They would like to know if you've had any problems with healthcare coverage, etc.

Please consider taking a couple of minutes to fill out this survey. It is only when people get together and speak out against injustices that change can happen. I know the only reason why CFS has had so much attention lately is because millions of people with CFS got involved in a grassroots effort to try to increase funding for CFS research. Fibromyalgia patients have also benefited from this research.

I'm glad you posted this.  I know that my particular insurance doesn't cover certain treatments like accupuncture.  Many policies won't cover other things unless you are referred or it is approved beforehand.  Sometimes, even then, they go against what your physician might have wanted.  I'm pulling out my policy and reviewing it before I send my response.  I want to check and see what other items they may not cover that I have seen utilized for fibromyalgia.
