Thank you Angel. Yes, they do work quite well. Reminds me that I should get some more of them, lol. I'm so happy to hear they did the job for you too.
The Lidoderm patches are a great idea Breeze. I used them after the TKR and I use them now. They sure help ease my knees and back when I'm having a flare.

I know what you mean...we have also had some severe weather fluctuations and it really gets into the bones. Have you tried to rub some muscle creme on it? You could also ask the doc. for Lidoderm patches and see if they help alleviate the pain. I hope you can get relief soon.
Please be safe and take care.
The oddest part is the weather here has done the same thing, one days it snows, the nest two it's sunny and 60 out!!! Just as suddenly as it came yesterday, it's gone today. They put me on muscle relaxants. They are a new kind that is extended release, however how will I know the night before if it's gonna be a bad day? I'm super frustrated about this. I was told at one time by a physical therapist that I have osteoarthritis in this knee. However he figured this out by doing some knee movement test while I lay on my stomach.
I just went through the week from h e l l last week with breakthrough pain...our weather was on a roller coaster, one day it would be 60 then the next 30...this went on all week, I was praying it would just stay one way or the other.. I finally called my doctor and he called in Ultram that did absolutely nothing for me..i went in his office on Monday and he gave me perocet for breakthrough pain...finally no more pain, or atleast it is at a tolerable level...you might talk to your doctor and see if he can give you something different just for breakthrough pain...good luck. hope you feel better soon...
It's probably a combination of things going on...your sciatica nerve, the fibro and there could be a bit of arthritis as well. I have breakthrough pain frequently, esp. when the weather is cold. It seems to upset the neuropathy, even though i'm inside and relatively warm. If it continues, please have it checked by your physician.
I hope you feel better soon. Take care.
