I have alot of numbness on my left side face and arm. I also have bouts of feeling like i'm going to pass out. My other symptoms are dizziness and sometimes can't take loud noises or bright lights. My doctor thinks its fibromyalgia but I don't have any pain. I had blood test, heart ultrasound, mri brain all normal. I have been having this for 7 months now off and on. Its very scary any thoughts?

with this condition it feels like you have been kicked by a horse from head to foot. you get tired and worn out by simply hoovering and you may feel clumsy have ibs and severe migraines, chronic fatigue loss of feeling in hands and feet, i have had this for nearly 3 years now and it is something you have to live with. i will say though i got pregnant in december and the baby died on 05/02/2007 and for most of that time my fibromyalgia was much easier less pain etc. it took the doctors approx 6 months to figure it out and i am now taking tramadol, diclofenic, maxalts,60mg flouoxetine and amitriptiline i have severe fibromyalgia and cannot even get out of bed some days in time you will be able to manage the pain because your body gets used to it. i wish you well

That's a tough one, my friend. Personally, I wouldn't ever settle for a diagnosis of 'fibromyalgia' until EVERY OTHER AVENUE is explored. Basically, if you're diagnosed with 'fibro', you're basically being told "yeah, you hurt everywhere almost all the time, deal with". Because no one knows. Fibromyalgia basically just means 'pain in your fibrous tissue'. It could take years for anyone to find anything. Me? I'm into my 13th year, with no end in sight, and no one knows what's wrong. All's you need to believe is that it's NOT JUST IN YOUR HEAD, and keep up your research until you find a doctor that wants to help find the root of the problem. I've been pushed away so many times with anti-depressants and pain killers. I don't believe in the diagnosis of 'fibromyalgia' because it's a wastebasket diagnosis. It has potentially hundreds of symptoms, and no way to detect it via bloodwork. If there's something wrong, if something hurts, then there's something measurable. Keep looking into it, and don't settle for the diagnosis of 'fibro'. You know how you feel, in the meantime, you'll have to learn how to cope. I can take pure codein pills (60mg) and they do NOTHING for the pain in my hands, feet, and back.
Good luck.
