Twitching /Foot/Leg

I just wanted to share something that my hubby mentioned to me on Tuesday.  He was sitting in the chair in our bedroom watching television when he saw my foot/leg twitching as I call it.  He said to me that he didn't know what was going on, he actually thought that there was a rat or something in the bed with me.  Remind you, we don't have rats or mice.  Okay, he said that he touched my foot and it stopped.  I started laughing because I have seen my muscles twitch in the day while I am wide awake and really didn't believe that they twitch when I sleep because I couldn't see them.  Anyway, I just wanted to share.  Thanks

I understand the twitching part.  I had problems going to sleep last night because my legs and even my arm were doing that.  One thing that can be happening is known as Restless Leg Syndrome (we have info. in our Health Pages about this).  Many times, those with RLS will also have what is called Periodic Limb Movement Disorder.  So you may be experiencing some of this.  There is also a symptom called benign fascilitations...where the muscles just twitch.  If it's limited to your foot, and isn't keeping you awake at night that's great.  I know with the RLS/PLMD, if I don't use meds. before sleeping I will literally shake the whole bed with spasms.

Hope you feel better soon.
