whats going on w/ my back??

ok so i am only 20 and when i was 17 i was told by my doctor after a long and painful year that i had fibro. my confusion comes from most of my pain is centered in my back....it is there all of the time and i've gotten to the point where i can't sit or stand for more than maybe 5 minutes at a time and it scares me that i'm having this problem so young....but it confuses me even more that i really don't have any other pain in my body except my back and all of the treatments i've been given and told to do excersies etc. don't work and i'm still constantly in pain...any suggestions??

Did your physician check you for scoliosis?  This can cause severe back pain as well.

What type of doctor did you see?  Do you have other symptoms of FMs outside of the back pain?

Do you have any treatment plan?  Medications?  A diagnosis alone is hardly helpful.  How is your sleep?  This is always the first place to start with Fibro patients.  Unless you're getting a good nights restorative sleep, nothing else you do matters.  Do you take anything to help you sleep?  What about stretches, not exercise?  Physical therapy?  It seems to me that if you have significant pain and no relief, it's time to visit the doctor.
