Very embarrassing but urgent question about MRCA

Hi, my question is gross and I am VERY embarrassed and would like to avoid the doctor as much as possible. Let me start off by saying that my doctor thinks I have some sort of autoimmune deficiency, but isn't positive, but I find myself susceptible to many infections. I'm very clean, take a shoer everyday, clean clothes ect.. but this past summer I had what the doctors thought was either staff or MRCA on my inner right thigh. I was prescribed heavy pills and cream and after a lot of frustration and pain it went away. A few days ago I was shaving "down there" (yes i know it's not healthy but I don't like hair there) and I was shaving around my butthole and nicked myself a little. It wasn't bad and I ignored it. The next day I noticed it was sore and felt irritated so I examined it and saw puffy redness and a small "pimple" that looked almost like what was on my leg. Last night I noticed that right in my right groin area (cut is right side also) that it was swollen and tender and I felt a bump which I am assuming is my swollen lymph node there... is that right? and if so is it dangerous? I finally have put it all together. It's because of my razors and not having changed them enough. I shave where I got the infection on my thigh and and where I have the one now. I keep my razor in the same spot so now I see why. I will be changing them A LOT now.

My question more or less is just to have this verified and see if I am right. It's not bad now but I would like to treat it on my own, and I still have some Mupirocin 2% topical cream left. Will this work? Again I would like to avoid the doctor again because I am an 18 year old girl and I'm very embaressed about this.... Please respond ASAP. THANK YOU.

HM.

Hey Sdunn0110,
Welcome to the forum.
Thanks for this. I did not know or rather did not think  about the "killing" of the surrounding tissue.
I've been using 3% H2O2 all my life without any problems for minor scrapes and cuts.
Take care,
Niko

Hi there! Hydrogen peroxide does help with killing minor infections but on the down side it also kills the surrounding healthy tissue, do its actually no longer recommended. Also if this is another outbreakog MRSA, hp won't even touch it. I'm a paramedic and deal with this infection daily with my pts. Y your best very is to use the cream you have left over, keep it clean, and if it doesn't seem to be being brr in a few days your going to have to seeyour doc. If mrsa if left untreated it will spread, its a flesh eating infection and can cause permanent scarring. Its not an infection you wanna mess with.

Hydrogen peroxide 3% topical solution is recommended for cuts.
It cleans and sterilizes the cut.
After this you can apply some mupirocin.
Wait till absorbed well and then cover with a band aid before dressing up.
If this does not heal soon you may have to see a doctor.
Take care,
Niko
