What is a Mother?

It takes a Mother's Thoughtfulness
to mend the heart's deep "hurts,"
And her Skill and her Endurance
to mend little socks and shirts.

It takes a Mother's Kindness
to forgive us when we err,
To sympathize in trouble
and bow her head in prayer.

It takes a Mother's Wisdom
to recognize our needs
And to give us reassurance
by her loving words and deeds.

It takes a Mother's Endless Faith,
her Confidence and Trust
To guide us through the pitfalls
of selfishness and lust.

And that is why in all this world
there could not be another
Who could fulfill God's purpose
as completely as a MOTHER!

This poem is really beautiful! It states so true as well. This kind of poetry should be published! I hope that you and every other mother has a wonderful and eventful mother's day. I spent Saturday with my mother and grandmother. We had a great time. We had a barbecue and just spent the day with some of the rest of our family. I also got to see my little sister which rarely happens. We live 3 hours apart. And that's just a whole other story in itself. It was nice. I couldn't have asked for anything better.Although I'm a bit sore today from playing with both babies (son and nephew), it was all worth it. Both of our babies are 9 months(hers) and 14 months(mine). It was hilarious! My son kept on hugging and kissing her son! I hope that you have a great mothers day! Take care
