Will somebody give me some answers?

I am a 33 yr. old white female.  I am a stay at home mom.  I have three children and all of them are in school(2 in high school).  A couple of monthes ago I started feeling really run down.  Things just started getting worse from there.  I started having cramps in every muscle in my body.  On top of that I got so constipated I was put in the hospital with an ilius.  I told the many doctors about my back, arms, and legs hurting, but aparently they did not think it was important.  After being released from the hospital, I found another doctor.  He told me that it could be fibromyalgia.  He gave me Lyrica to try for a week and see if it helped.  He also did lab work to see if it is an autoimmune disorder.  I have not heard back on the labs yet.  The Lyrica has helped just a little bit.  My list of symptoms include BODY PAIN, hands, feet, lips turn blue at times, very tired no matter how much I rest, left hand swells, right hand looks darker than left(almost like it has a tan), very dark circles around my eyes(someone ask if I got hit), loss of apitite, my arms almost feel too heavy to lift.  Is this fibromyalgia?  If it is, what exactlly is fibromyalgia and what can I do to feel better?  Sometimes I feel so bad I'm really scared.

Blue lips is not an FMS/CFS symptom.  This happens typically due to hypothermia or oxygen deprivation.  It can also be caused by low iron or anemia.  Of course, you could have several things going on at one time (FMS/CFS being one of them)..and yes, it can hurt that bad.

It would be difficult to say one of these illnesses are the probable cause without the lab work and further testing done to rule out other possible medical conditions.  Wait until your labwork returns and you can discuss it more with your physician...as the tests may show something that can help ease these symptoms you are having.

Please keep in touch and I hope you feel better soon.

In my opinion, some of the symptoms like lips turning blue, one hand looking darker, and swelling of hands, does not sound typical of Fibromyalgia. These symptoms almost sound like a problem with circulation and the muscle cramps could be a problem with your electrolytes, but I am not a doctor, of course. I am hoping you will have a full medical work-up to rule-out other conditions.

Fibromyalgia is a cluster of symptoms, but involves pain and stiff muscles, sleep and hormone disburbances, GI disburbances, immune dysfunction, fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, etc.

I am sure that others will offer you their opinions and experiences with Fibro,, but usually a lot of other tests are done to rule-out other conditions before receiving a Fibro. diagnosis.

Warmest Regards
