appt with the dr today

i have my appt with the nuero today. i saw him on new years eve and he said that he suspected fibromyalgia and started me on lyrica-which seems to be helping control the pain. i had a nerve conduction study this past tuesday and today i go in for the results of the study and all the blood work i had done. he wanted to rule out MS. i am a bit nervous about everything but i really like this dr and feel as though i am in good hands. wish me luck~

How did your appointment go??? I am sorry I was unable to wish you luck, I was sitting in my appointment with my Rheumatologist all afternoon. Let me know how you are doing when you get a chance.

He feels pretty confident that it is fibro, however he was hesitate to label me with the diagnosis because i have too many sensory issues that are not indicative with fibro. He said that my blood work showed that i am borderline deficient in B12. he asked if i was a vegetarian and i said no. he gave me a b12 supplement. he also changed my medication from lyrica (no generic and very expensive!!) to nuraton.   no MS which i was very concerned about it.

i am still having the severe breast pain. i have had a mammogram and ultrasound. the findings of which show that i have an asymmetric density in the breast that i am having the pain. because of the pain and the fact that my mother had 2 primary breast cancers, they are sending me for an MRI of the breast on february 11. i will do it but am hesitate because i cannot use contrast (i'm allergic to it) so i'm not sure what they can see with out. i have an appt with my gyno tuesday to discuss it further.

thanks it :)

I feel like I need to find an answer quick i can't continue like this.. The Lyrica has been wonderful, however i have noticed that is does not seem to work for everyone. i'm hoping that when i switch to the nuraton it will work as well. good luck to you!!! i think it all depends on the dr. i was lucky that my nuero took me seriously from the get go and has found answers for me in just a few weeks!
