Yes BrandyF,

I to have had problems with balancing. I had several falls down flights of stairs, the last fall was very nasty. I still have a bruise on my bottom, and knock my hip out of socket.
Because of that fall, I was walking twisted for a few days and didn't realize it until I went to the chiro.
After an examine with him, he suggested that's what pushed me into arthritis developing in my knees.?????

Daily walking, getting up out of bed etc., does get me dizzy at times. Sometimes I have to grab my head to get a felling of control. Unfortunately dizziness is anothing I've learned to deal with.

I was dx with vertigo years ago, around the same time I was dx with migraines that was about 5 years before the dx of fibro.

Come to think of it, even before that dx, I was never able to get on an esculator without problems, I could never get the flow/hang of catching the right stair to get on the thing. And elevators, I hate them, my head spins and I get crazy-dizzy so I've learned to just deal with it.

Maybe 4x's ayear I have to take the meds that was prescribe for the vertigo ( Meclizine .25mgs ) motion sickness pills which are very helpful.

Things I do to help with this problem are:
dry my inner ears after a shower, if I don't I'm will for sure get an ear infection.
watch what I eat, pork seems to do something to me?
greasy foods, I try to stay away from.
realize the side effects from each med.
watch my blood pressure.

And I try to ignore the "less stressful" things around me. I try not to get caught up with the little things. but, with 3 daughters HA!  LOL

Soft Hugs ((((()))))
And much Love

I have had the same problem, to varying degrees over the past 7 months.... about a month after I was diagnosed with Fibro, which lead into my diagnoses with CFS.

It is at least partially caused by Orthostatic Intolerance- a common CFS symptom. And I think a large part of my balance problem comes from vasomotor rhinitis - whether this ties into CFS/Fibro or not I'm not sure.

I've found that taking some over-the-counter motion sickness pills will give me some relief and at least stop my staggering gait. Also, I've found that my dizziness and my balance problems seem to go away if I get out and walk, outdoors, in the fresh air.

I took a trip a few months ago, from Texas to Oregon. And when I got as far away from my home as Denver I found that my dizziness was gone. It stayed gone for the duration of my trip, despite changes in altitude and several environmental changes between Colorado and Oregon. Then when I got back to Texas.... and I mean the split second after I stepped back into my house there, the dizziness returned.

It was almost as if someone had flipped on a switch.

So, I believe there is some environmental connection to this CFS/Fibro based dizziness and balance problems.
