Hi roztom and welcome to the forum.
roztom, I don't believe there's a narcotic component in Lyrica, however,
any of the people who take it -I know a lot of people!!- either have gained weight or have experienced other side effects, such as " spacey" personality changes, in many of them, including a former employee of mine.
I guess it is different for each person.
I suspect that the inhibition of various neurotransmitters is responsible-at least partially- for this.
Can you give me more details about your chronic back pain?
I managed to tame mine substantially, to the point that I feel fully functional,
as long as I avoid over-doing certain things.
Again, not too many people have the determination and discipline to
go through what I went through, to learn, do whatever it takes and eventually achieve what I originally set in my mind.
So, you're welcome to pick my brain, lol!
Take care.
Niko
