I don't know of anything like that. For me the pain is really clearly originating in and around the cartilage of the outer ear, so even though the pain radiates deeper once it gets going, I can't imagine any kind of antibiotic or ear drops would help with mine. It sounds like we share some symptoms but not all, and I'm not sure if we have the same cause or not. What a bummer that you are getting the pain during the day too! My husband has a different sort of ear problem, with a susceptibility to fungal infection that responds very well to ear drops of a weak solution of vinegar in water. The fungal infection is pretty easily diagnosed by an ear, nose and throat specialist, so if your symptoms seem to be changing you might want to consult one of those. My kind of ear pain has never gotten any kind of diagnosis - the doctors just look briefly perplexed and then move on to the next subject, but then, mine is fairly easy to accommodate with my pillow arrangement. Good luck with yours!
Thanks Yes i'm doing the same-making a dentin the feather pillow! better than trying to sleep on back al the time! It is starting to sting and stab during the day tho. Antibiotics did take this off for a bout two weeks then it came back. Now using anti fungal drops off GP -however when I don't use them its worse. They wont give me more tho! Wonder if any other soothing drops that you can use all the time are available to buy?
Thanks again
IDK if its the same, but I've had more than a decade of extreme sensitivity to pressure on my outer ear. I've learned to sleep only with down pillows because you can push the feathers around. I make a little hollow for my ear before falling asleep on my side. If I roll over in my sleep and end up without that hollow, I inevitably wake up with excruciating ear (burning) pain that takes quite a while to subside even after taking all the pressure off. My special pillow arrangement is the only thing I've discovered that helps, but then mine never occurs without pressure. Good luck!
I had that. Went thru a ton of tests & meds. It eventually subsided after about 4 months of torture.
