Hi jenn384.

Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, for the sake of your unborn baby and your own, you have to become your own Endocrinologist.
Doctors know very little about Hashimoto's and even with natural thyroid hormone-as correctly suggested by silverfox67-may not be enough  to ensure that your thyroid condition will be well managed. There are so many variables, I don't know where to start.

If you're interested to learn more about thyroid dysfunction, please let me know and I will send you information from my own studies in a series of messages, as the word count exceeds Medhelp's individual message
capacity.
If you can afford the services of a Holistic Doctor, a Naturopathic Doctor
or a Thyroid "friendly Doctor (  if you can find one in your area) who uses Dr. Barne's protocol and NOT the "established" protocol.
The "established" testing (usually just TSH levels) and the treatment (synthetic T4) are very inefficient and leave large numbers of patients underdiagnosed, undiagnosed, misdiagnosed and naturally
undertreated, untreated or mistreated, lol!
Yes silverfox, I understand exactly how you feel!

There's no good reason for your miscarriage-and I'm so sorry for your loss and suffering- as in the hands of a caring and knowledgeable doctor, this should have NEVER happened, if indeed it has a result of thyroid dysfunction!!!

I have a vested interest in Thyroid dysfunction, as it runs in my family,
not myself personally- but my wife's side, my wife and my daughter.
By the way, the hypothyroid maternal link to the offspring is very strong.

So please post again or message me directly.
You may want to include  test results, symptoms, synthetic thyroid dose,
etc.  The sea kelp supplement is OK, however, it will only help your thyroid function if you have an iodine/iodide deficiency.

Note, as a much as I know this information is helpful, I need to state, that it is not intended as a substitute for medical advice.

Wishing you well.
Love & Light
Niko

Most doctors prescribe a synthetic thyroid hormone.  However, a natural thyroid treatment is also available.  the Kelp contains potassium which should not hurt you even if you are pregnant.
You might want to ask your doctor about the natural thyroid hormone - it has to be adjusted individually for each person.
There are many women who have Hashimoto's and have had successful pregnancies.  - See a different doctor if the one you have doesn't agree!
He is not the only gyn in the world.
  Sorry, I hate injustice...
