meningitis ?

can a person have herpes and never pass it on to the mate of 22yrs. and never have an outbreak.

Yes... you can have herpes and the virus will be dormant in your body forever and you may never know it.  

You may have not had an initial outbreak, or you could have just thought you had a cold or flu coming on and the outbreak was so mild, you never realized you had an lesions.  You don't necessarily have to have an outbreak to know you have it.

There is an easy blood test that can be done to determine if you carry the virus. It's very basic and very accurate.  Talk to your Dr.

I think you may have posted this in the wrong forum.

People with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome aren't necessarily knowledgeable about herpes.  I'm sure there's a herpes forum somewhere here on the site.  I'd recommend you look around a bit more.
