muscle spasms worse at night

I have crazy-severe muscle spasms all night long.  Does anyone know what can be done for this?  Does anyone else have this problem?

Ohh. Speaking of that I have a lot of pain at night too. Right now, the muscle relaxants that my doctor has me on are not working. I'm still afraid to ask for Tramadol, even though that may help a little bit more on worse nights.

I get spasms so bad from pain that I'll roll into a ball and rock back and forth, crying.

The other day I had my fibro pain and my endometriosis pain. I had to hold myself back from going to the hospital, that and the fact that my insurance would charge me a huge amount.

Wow, this sounds similar to what happens to me!  It was suggested that I take my pain meds at least two hours before I go to bed.  I think it does really help to do this.  I can sure relate to this wanting to go to the e.r. for the pain!  My naturopath said that magnesium and calcium are supposed to help with the muscle pains.  I'm still working on that one myself, though, because I have to ask my nephrologist if I can take the higher doses, since I've had renal failure in the recent past.  Magnesium is supposed to help my IBS with constipation, too, but I still have to ask about the higher doses, because magnesium at the normal RDA levels doesn't touch the constipation.  I hope that knowing that other people can relate to how you feel will be helpful, even if the other suggestions don't do it for you personally.

My pains are worse in the morning and at night as well.  Last night I also started to go to the ER.  I take my AmbienCR to go to sleep earlier than normal when I feel this way so that I can go to sleep as soon as possible.  Usually when this occurs I take that pill at 7pm.

I can tell you that all of my pain is worse at night.  Last night I almost went to the ER.  The only reason I didn't is because I knew they would have me lay there for 12 hrs., and I couldn't take that.  I have such pain at night that I am afraid to go to bed.  I don't sleep much anyway.  I stay up as late as I can because I'm scared.
