Strange foot issue

hello, could someone please tell me if this is normal.  I posted a pic as well near the bottom.

I've got swelling & minor pain just south of my ankle on my right foot...in that small area where all the veins seem to bundle together.

I was mowing the lawn about 2 weeks ago...and while I was going up against a hill, I believe I rolled my foot a little.

But I still have the swelling & i'm not completely sure if that incident had anything to do with it.

Is it normal to have swelling in this particular region of the foot because of a foot injury of putting additional pressure on the right side of my right foot ?  I know for sure I didn't roll my ankle, but I did have additional pressure on the right side of my foot when going up that hill, because I was mowing it on an angle.

When i touch the area that is slightly swelled, it doesn't feel like a mass or anything...just a swelled up area.  But then again , i'm not a doctor so I don't know exactly what it should feel like.   It just feels kinda light & puffy.

But the main question is....so I could try to rule out anything more significant....Is, if its normal to have swelling in this area from rolling my foot ?

I don't have money to be going to the doctor if its just because of a minor physical injury. (i'll deal with it)

But if it could be cancer, i'll get money to go get it looked at.

My left foot is completely fine.  No pain and no swelling at all.

Any expertise advice without just saying "go to the doctor" would be much appreciated.

thanks   (and sorry about my toenails , I guess I should of cut them before taking the pic :-/ )

As you can see , there is no swelling around the ankle, but just south of there, there is swelling.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
looks like where the extensor digitorum muscle belly is.  you may have strained the muscle.
apply ice to the area and take 600 mg ibuprofen (with food) every 6 hours for 5 days...make sure you are not currently taking any nsaids and dont have allergies to them.

if it doesn't get better, you need to see a doctor

Thanks Doc.   Yeah the swelling seems to go away a lot when I don't walk on it or when I wake up in the morning.... If i'm walking around a lot, the swelling comes back.

Maybe I should wrap it up in a Ankle Wrap ?
