Can someone help?... pls... :"(

Hi,

I'm a 20 yr old (underweight) chinese female. I've been experiencing acid reflux for almost 3 months now. It sort of happened overnight with incredible stomach churning. At first I thought it was stomach flu until I realised that my throat was feeling weird and I was getting air involuntarily popping at my throat. (I hardly ever burp before this.) The docter prescribed me with Omeprazole for 2 weeks. But it didn't go away for improve for that matter so I went back and was prescribed with Famotidine which proved to reduce the frequency of my reflux. When I was on Omeprazole, I was experiencing reflux a few times a day. But Famotidine and a very, small lunch helped reduce that to mild reflux once after dinner daily. I continued taking Famotidine for 2mths until my scheduled Gastroscopy which was performed 2 days ago.

I've just started on Pariet (Rabeprazol Sodium 20mg), once daily. (Very, very expensive medicine. 6x more expensive than taking 3x Omeprazole daily. :( Sigh  )

After taking Rabeprazole, yesterday's night, I experienced my first ever night reflux. It was horrible and I couldn't bear the thought of daily night acid reflux. I've always been able to sleep peacefully before that. (Peacefully meaning no night reflux but the usual bloatedness and churning and "air-popping" sensations in the stomach and intestines.) I couldn't get the reflux to stop despite settling myself down into a half-sitting, half-lying down position. Luckily a work helped knocked me out eventually.

That said, today is day 2 of Rabeprazole and I've been experiencing reflux for the past 4 hours (since after my dinner). It got so bad 2 hours ago that I felt like I was choking for about 5 mins+ and the back of my throat kind of hurt. The first 2 hrs into it was relatively stringer acidic taste. Right now it is more of a mild reflux i'm tasting.

Sorry for being such a drag but I would like to hear anyone's opinion or advice. I am very, very miserable. And is it normal for reflux to be so persistent and recurrent? My gastro doc put me on Rabeprazole for 1 month. During this window period of 1 mth is it going to be normal and safe to experience such hardcore symptoms? Says here on my paper "Principle Diagnosis: Erosive Esophagitis" apparently he talked to me a little when I was sedated so I pretty much can't even remember holding any conversation with him. He then left the hospital so I feel quite lost here right now (I've told him my entire long story above too).

I really hope somebody can help me... sometimes I ignore this problem but at times when the reflux is so bad I really feel so damn depressed that I'm here draining my mom's finances and not getting any better. I know this sounds so, so stupid but when I got the night reflux last night, I really felt like I was at my wit's end and just really feel like dying. Its like... you're just so sick of feeling sick.
