Help Me Please...

Sir,
I had got multiple disks herniation in cervical and lumbar region while lifting my bag in 2007.just after it I was given NSAID drugs. After which I started experiencing Acid Reflux, regurgitation and pain in stomach.I was diagnosed for Fibromyalgia for my herniated disks pain.I went for aggressive treatment of many gastro doctors bt the treatment of PPI's and Pre-Biotics helped me randomly. Now, sometimes I feel very relieved and some times the problem becomes intolerable.I can not sleep the whole night due to the pain and reflux. The Barium swallow x-ray and Endoscopy shows I have sliding hiatal hernia.I want to know Is there any advance treatment other than laparoscopic fundoplication available in India now or I would hv to go for it only.I am scared of its side effects and complications for life long.what is the success rate of Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication for life time and which doctor is best for this type of surgery..i.e. any laparoscopic surgeon or any specialist gastrosurgeon. Please help me soon as I hv lost my job due to the disease and me and my family is scared of getting cancer coz of it.

Yes, stress can add to a flare...and sleep is important too in overall health and well being.

U will need to find the root of ur anxiety and loss of sleep to aid in the healing process.

Hi. thanx for the reply. I hv applied and still hving all the precautions with my diet as per as spicey, beverages, citrus, fermented, alcoholic stuffs are concerned. But, still its not getting improved. The Dr. is saying that Im hving extreme stress, anxiety and sleep problem. I hardly sleep for maximum 1-2 hrs due to insomnia. Can it be one of the main reasons for my flair....

Hi...I see u were to the dr and were on meds, but nowhere did I see u mention a change in diet and lifestyle...that is needed in addition to the meds. I have been dx'd with my hiatal hernia since I was in school  and I am now 50, and have not needed the surgery.

There r times when I have a flare, but I can usually track the trigger down to my diet or a change in meds.

Please see the Health Pages here on MH and see if there r some changes u can make b4 going forward with this surgery.
