Hi, my name is Isabel and I am a 17 year old healthy girl. Just a few hours ago I woke up with the constant need to swallow because my throat is so dry. After swallowing constantly for a few minutes it started to make me feel nauseous and like I was about to vomit. I quickly got up and ran to get a drink of water and after I did I felt better for a moment but it came back quickly. After staying up for a while I felt less nauseous and wasn't swallowing as much so I decided to go back to sleep. But again I woke up just a mere 15 minutes later swallowing constantly and nearly throwing up. Every time I get up and drink for a while I start to feel better. I have no cough drops in my house, nor do I have any medicine. Please someone help me because I'm physically exhausted and very worried...
**notes. I have been in snowmass Colorado, almost 10,000 elevation, for 3 days now. It is very dry up here, especially since I come from Chicago which is only about 780ft elevation. I do get dry/sore throats here occasionally but never this swallowing/nausea issue and I've been coming here since I was born. I'm almost certain it isn't altitude sickness because usually I get that in the first day or two, and I have been drinking lots of water. I also just got my period about 6 days early... Not sure if that could have anything to do with it but just giving some more information in case it does.
