I agree with John987, all good advice. I had the same problem as you. I raised the head of the bed by placing a 4 X 4" post under the bed posts, that helped more than the wedged pillows as the pillows drove me nuts. However, I finally had surgery to correct the problem (Nissen Fundoplication procedure) and it was very successful. It is wonderful to have the problem corrected.
There is surgery as a last resort. First try: small meals, elevating the head of your bed a few inches or getting a specially designed wedge pillow to elevate your head and torso, not eating within three hours of bedtime or reclining, no tight clothes around the middle, maintaining your ideal weight, avoiding spicy and acidic foods, avoiding alcohol, continuing the medication as prescribed. Given the timing of your problem, make sure you go to bed slightly hungry and without alcoholic drinks earlier. Also take your medicine at bedtime.
