Nissen Fundoplication

I had nissen fundoplication done 2 1/2 yrs ago. The surgery fixed the gerd problem, but created five other problems. I know have constant gas and stomach pains associated with gas in the intestines, I guess. If I eat before 11 or 12 in the morning, odds are I will have diarrea and this is usually very sudden and can not be controlled for long. My stomach now growls and grumbles very loudly and will do so even after eating. Most of the time I have an uneasy feeling of uncertanty about when I will have to go to the bathroom. I have tried watching what I eat, but this does not have any affect. I am not over weight or out of shape. What can I do? Is having it undone an option? I have noticed lately that I get a pain in my right side that feels like a cramp, not sure what thats about. Can somebody please tell me if there is anything I can take or do about these side effects of nissen fundoplication?
Thanks

I had the fundiplication approx 8 years ago, while it was relativly new. I go thru cycles of constipation/diarea. I attribute it to my eating habits. I don't eat enough fiber, and am not good about taking fiber supplements. I know it sounds weird, but the best thing I have found to help is popcorn. Not with butter, just a little salt. And yes gas can also be a problem sometimes, but again diet makes a big difference. I can't eat a lot of veggies or fruit as this increases the problem. For me, a high protein/low carb diet works the best. I would have the surgery again in a heartbeat. I no longer have to take any acid reflux meds. My biggest problem, and I would be interested in knowing if you have the same problem, is that I can't throw up. If I get ill and nauseated, and try to vomit, I end up hunched over the bowl screaming in pain, feeling like it's tearing out. I break out in a sweat from the pain. The only thing that helps is lying down, waiting for it to pass. Does this happen to you?  Try changing your diet and adding more fiber, I think it will help you a lot. Good luck. Please post how you do.
